Five common purposes in writing for an attorney are to inform, educate, entertain, persuade and control. What are the purposes of demand letters, office memorandums,legal memorandums, opinion letters, appellate briefs, pleadings, and informative letters? Why? Are any of the five common purposes not addressed in these documents? Why?
