i have been studying square roots and still don't understand it...i need more examples ..like how do i find the square root of 7....

The square root of a number is the number which multiplied by itself results in the original number.

Number Square Root
9 3
16 4
23 4.796 (approximately)

There are methods to calculate the square root without a calculator, but they are a bit involved.

to find some "non-calculator" methods. The bottom line is use a calculator.

To find the square root of 7, you can follow these steps:

Step 1: Start by making an educated guess for the square root of 7. In this case, let's guess 2.

Step 2: Square your guess. 2 squared is equal to 4.

Step 3: Compare the result to the number you want to find the square root of, in this case, 7. Since 4 is less than 7, we know that our guess was too low.

Step 4: Adjust your guess slightly higher and try again. Let's try 3.

Step 5: Square your new guess. 3 squared is equal to 9.

Step 6: Now, compare the result to 7. Since 9 is greater than 7, we know that our guess was too high.

Step 7: Adjust your guess using a method called "averaging." Take the average of your previous guess and the desired number divided by your previous guess. So, (3 + 7/3) / 2 = 2.33 (rounded to two decimal places).

Step 8: Square your new guess. 2.33 squared is approximately equal to 5.43.

Step 9: Compare the result to 7. Since 5.43 is less than 7, we know our guess was too low.

Step 10: Keep repeating steps 7-9, adjusting your guess each time, until you are satisfied with the accuracy of the square root you find.

By following these steps, you can find an approximation of the square root of 7, which is approximately equal to 2.65 (rounded to two decimal places). Remember that finding the exact square root may require the use of more advanced mathematical techniques.
