Homework Help: History

Posted by Noah on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at 1:12pm.

Which political events of the 1980s had the most influence on the collapse of Communism in Europe and the end of the Cold War? Can someone help me with this question, I don't think my answer is right

my answer: Communism collapsed in Russia in 1989 because of economic failure. Gorbachev's rise to power was a key event. The Solidarity Movement in Poland was the primary political cause and the last 75 years of Russian history made the USSR rotten and ready to fall.
