If you want something to a power use the little up arrow, upper case 6. For example x^3 is x cubed.
a)
1.67 * 10^-27 * 4.00*10^6
=(1.67*4)* 10^-21
= 6.68 * 10^-21 kg m/s
all to three significant figures since 4.00 and 1.67 are three figures
b)
16.5 g * 10^-3 kg/g = 16.5 * 10^-3 kg = 1.65*10^-2 kg
270 m/s = 2.70*10^2
now do (1.65*2.70)* 10^-2 * 10^2
=4.455*10^0 but we want three significant figures and anything^0 = 1 so
4.46 kg m/s
