Well before one turns off the light
So we live as if we can live it again
Salut! Other translations for "pourtant" are also "however; nevertheless." If "sérieux" is modifying "mères" it's interesting it is the masculine plural rather than the feminine plural! "On passe" I like "we" but it could be "One" as well. For "Pendant que" I believe "While" is better. "et nous laisse" "and leaves us" (depending upon just how precise you want to be; there is nothing wrong with being freerer.) With "trop" how about "too much?" Again "On perd" could be "One loses." Actually "suer" is "to sweat" so "sweating and skinning" our hands." "What does that serve if we aren't sure to see tomorrow."
As for "lourd" "heavy or sultry" (weather) might be better. With "ne...que" I'd use "only" = When one lives only/we only live in prayers. Spelling is "savor" every moment. Or "well before the light goes out or figuratively "dies."
Then let's live while we may still do it.
BTW, do you have the title of this song? I'd like to see if I can find it and if someone else has already tried to tranlate it.
