Johnny is a 5-year-old kindergarten student starting school for the first time. What changes do you expect to see Johnny go through in the course of his first year of school? Be specific in your response, addressing changes in his physical, emotional, and cognitive domains. How might these changes impact Johnny’s behavior in the classroom?

  Johnny will probably gain weight and grow taller. He will also adjust to being away from his mother and enjoy being with his peers. He will also learn to add and subtract one-digit numbers and begin to put words together from letters. This question is so broad that it doesn't take into consideration the vast differences between children. What do your text materials say about the maturation of kindergartners -- their problems and successes?
