Acknowledgements are usually made in a written statement, consisting of a paragraph or two at the beginning of a report, before the Introduction and Table of Contents (if any). It consists of a naming of names of people who helped in the project or the writing of the report, whose role was important but not sufficient to justify co-authorship.
