You have to follow the order of operation which says, multiplication before addition.
perform the following multiplications, then add those results
8000x.69 =
2000x1.09 =
4000x.99 =
1000x 1.19 =
2000x1.09 =
Multiply 8000 by .69 to get 5520.
Multiply 2000 by 1.09 to get 2180.
Multiply 4000 by .99 to get 3960.
Multiply 1000 by 1.19 to get 1190.
Multiply 2000 by 1.09 to get 2180.
5520+2180+3960+1190+2180
Add 2180 to 5520 to get 7700.
7700+3960+1190+2180
Add 3960 to 7700 to get 11660.
11660+1190+2180
Add 1190 to 11660 to get 12850.
12850+2180
Add 2180 to 12850 to get 15030.
