Homework Help: math-any thoughts?

Not trying to bug anybody, but does anybody have any help they could give me with my 2 questions from yesterday?
I'm really confused, so I'd appreciate ANY input. I've tried looking at math help websites and read all the definitions, but I'm just not getting it..
