The modern nation of Greece (particularly the current capital city of Athens) is still known today as the birthplace of democracy. See my other post, but I would say that is a debateable issue. Could you tell me what specific time period in Greek history you are talking about? Greece has been ruled by more than one of these political systems throughout time.
