Joe, using only .32 cent stamps and .20 cent stamps, put $3.36 postage on a package he sent to his sister, he used twice as many .32-cent stamps as 20-cent stamps. How many of each stamp did he use.....please help me .this is driving me crazy!!

Thanks

if he used x of the 20 cent stamps he used 2 x of the 32 cent stamps

so

2x*32 + x * 20 = 336 cents

64 x + 20 x = 336

84 x = 336

x = 4 of the 20 cent stamps

2x = 8 of the 32 cent stamps
