When should someone use awhile and a while? I know one is a noun. Would you please give me an example of each. I would appreciate it. Thanks.

The adverb is awhile. Example:

Please stay awhile and have a cup of coffee.

The noun form is while. Example:

I'll stay for a while, and I'd love a cup of coffee.

Note that in the last usage, while is the object of the preposition "for."
