How can I find the area of the shape when it has three units? Heres how it looks:

We can't see you diagram unfortunately.
If it is a triangle you are describing, just state the lengths of the sides.
If 3 sides of a triangle are known, then you can use a formula called Heron's Formula, you can find it on Google. 
Your graphic didn't and won't show up here.
But you can find the areas of each of the three units and then add them together.
