In my science lab we tested anaerobic vs aerobic respiration. for the anaerobic we covered the test tubes with a plastic film. what is the term for that?

Thank you for using the Jiskha Homework Help Forum. Are you constructing a Winogradsky Column?

I'm not really sure what that is,

but basically in our lab we just had like yeast, water, and baking soda. Then some of the test tubes we covered with a thin plastic film. It was stretchy and i'm trying to write my lab report so i'm trying to get the right word...

The term for covering the test tubes with a plastic film in your science lab experiment is "anaerobic conditions". Anaerobic conditions refer to an environment or condition that lacks oxygen. By covering the test tubes with a plastic film, you created a barrier that prevented the entry of oxygen into the experiment setup, thus simulating anaerobic conditions for the reaction to take place.
