What is the best way to study for a math test?

Also, what is the best/most efficient way to write a math test?

The format of my tests is usually basic questions, and then word problems. I'm always pressed for time at the end, so I have to scramble when answering the word problems, and I get them wrong...

Practice by trying to solve specific problems, under the guidance of a tutor if necessary.

I suggest you do the word problems first -- and then do the basic questions.

If the problem is that you need too much time to do the problems, but given enough time you would do well, then you need to practice more.
