There is going to be a tournament to decide which of 8 football teams is the champion. On the first Saturday the 8 teams will play each other in 4 games. on the second saturday the winners of the first 4 games will play,and on the third saturday the winners from the second Saturday will play. How many games will be played in the tournament to determine the champion? Explain how you got the answer.

Add the numbers of games played each Saturday. On the second Saturday, four teams play 2 games, etc. There is one final game.
