read the paragrahs below. on your own or with a partner, write the topic and the man idea of each. Then write two possible opinion statements for each paragraph

opinion statment. First members of the student council learn important decision-making skills. They learn how to analyze complex issues and form their own opinions. Furthermore, student council teaches individuals how to work well in a group it helps students to feel involved in their community, to value good communication, and to respect and appreciate people's differences.

many movies have been made about important historical events such as the American revolution, the Civil War,the Great Depressionm and WOrld War two. These movies bring historical events to life, revealing the causes and the consequences in a way that's easy to understand and remember. by letting the audence"see" different historical perids, movies can also help people understand how different events are relatd to each other in time and place. Look at the first sentence of each paragraph. That should have the topic sentence. If you are not clear after that, read the last sentence, that will have the "discovery" and should give you the main idea that has been supported.
