Linear Equation

-8x+4y=-12

I am not arriving at this answer when I simpify

• Algebra - Amanda, Friday, February 22, 2008 at 9:35pm

-8x + 4y = -12
+8x +8x
--- ----
0 +4y = -12 + 8x
divide both sides by 4
(4y)/4 = (-12)/4 +(8x)/4
y = -3 + 2x
or y= 2x -3

good luck
