Homework Help: Math

12 pieces each 13 3/8 inches long need to be cut from a board 16 feet long. How much is left after the 12 pieces are cut? ______ inches

I got 31 and was wondering if i was right?

Well, 16 feet = 192 inches.

13_3/8 x 12 = 160_1/2 inches.

192 inches - 160_1/2 inches = 31_1/2 inches.

You can also write it as 31.5 inches.

You forgot the 1/2.
