Laura and Pam decide to meet at the library. They both leave the house on their bikes at 8 a.m. Laura pedals 5phm faster that Pam and waits 12 minutes for her friend who pedals at a rate of 10mph. After spending 2 hours at the library they return home pedaling at the same rate they did in the morning. Laura arrives home at 11:48 a.m. What s the distance between Pam's house and the library?

Use the distance formula:

distance = rate times time

or in short D = rt.

Set up a chart and then use the formula.
