Come painters brush, spash, spray, or drip paint. Others pain with their fingers, elbows and other body parts.....I have to have my son write the main idea??? I thought it would be People who make art are called artists but I am not sure? I welcome anyones thoughts

The main idea here would be that artists use many difference things (media) and techniques to create art.

To help determine the main idea of the book "Art Around Us," you can follow these steps:

1. Read the introduction: Start by reading the introduction of the book, which provides a general overview of the topic. Pay attention to the key ideas and concepts mentioned.

2. Identify repeated phrases: Look for any repeated phrases or ideas throughout the introduction and subsequent sections. These repetitions often indicate the central theme or main idea of the book.

In the case of "Art Around Us," the repeated phrase "Art is all around us" stands out. This phrase emphasizes that art can be found everywhere and in various forms, materials, and mediums.

3. Analyze supporting details: Examine the supporting details mentioned in each section after the introduction. Determine if they all align with the main idea identified in step 2.

In the example you provided, the book includes sections on different types of artists, such as painters, sculptors, and potters. These sections support the main idea by highlighting the various ways artists express themselves through different art forms.

Based on these steps, it seems that the main idea of "Art Around Us" is that art can be found everywhere, in different forms and materials, and people who make art are called artists.
