3000 words equals about 12 pages, typed and double-spaced. Usually, this does not include the works cited page(s). With this much space available to expound on your topic, you can work in up to six subtopics, but no more--fewer if the subtopics are complicated. Figure on two pages for your introduction and the same for your conclusion. That leaves eight pages for the discussion of your subtopics. With four subtopics, you need about two pages for each. For six, of course, you'd have less space to discuss them.
Plan on spending at least half of your time before the due date researching the topics. Then divide the other half into two parts--one for the rough writing and the other for final writing, double-checking accuracy, spelling, grammar, etc. LEave at least two days for last minute difficulties such as your printer dying or your dog getting hungry.
When you being your research, look for those subtopics that interest you. Start dividing your research information into those categories.DO BACK UP ALL WORK!!! Keep a computer file with all downloaded research information for your works cited page. You can copy/paste whole articles so you have the exact information to use in your paper without having to try to remember the precise wording.
