What is the interest rate "named" on mortgages?
1 answer
I believe it is the percentage rate which gets divided by 12 and applied to to the monthly principle, to obtain the monthly interest. It is not the same as the Annual Percentage Rate (APR), which is higher because of the monthly compouding effect.
