Opposition to water pollution -- almost everyone opposes it. Water pollution kills fish, smells, promotes undesirable plants, and contaminates the ground water that people drink.
The problem is it's very expensive to clean up our water resources. Industries have contributed a lot of the pollution, but are reluctant to pay for the clean up. Governments have many demands on their budgets and it's difficult for them to allocate money for getting rid of pollution.
