I need help concerning time zones.

How do you compare differences in the time zones of the United States and other countries?

A chart states that in the Central Standard Time Zone, Paris, France is apart by 7 hours. Currently, it is 10:00 in Paris, France. What time is it there in the Central Time Zone?

Do I have to subtract or add 7 hours?

That's confusing to me, too, even though I've traveled abroad a lot.

Think of it this way. The sun rises in the east so it gets light in the morning in Paris before it gets light in the U.S.

To compare the time difference between different time zones, you need to consider whether you need to subtract or add the hours. Here's how you can determine the time in the Central Time Zone based on the given information:

1. Start with the current time in Paris, France, which is 10:00 AM.
2. The chart states that Paris, France is 7 hours ahead of the Central Standard Time Zone.
3. Since Paris is ahead of the Central Time Zone, you need to subtract the time difference from the current time in Paris.
10:00 AM - 7 hours = 3:00 AM

So, it would be 3:00 AM in the Central Time Zone when it is 10:00 AM in Paris, France.
