I got a speech to do on a English topic called CONFLICT & RESOLUTION.

I have to do a speech on either a :
person - biography or autobiography
novel
movie
theme
a poet

and conflicts can be:
interpersonal
intrapersonal
intergenerational
intercultural
A large scale conflict e.g. a war, revolution etc.

I need to provide an informative and interesting oral presentation. Demonstrating evidence of research and interpretation of the analysis of the material.

Point to consider: "I must have a focus question"...

This speech is so broad yet kinda vague.
I plan on doing "Die Untergung" or DOWNFALL, a movie on Hitler's last hours.
or SOMETHING to do with World War 2 as I am highly interested in it.

I'm looking for advice on what information I could use, or how I could go abouts doing my speech, like what specifically I should talk about?

I was thinking something like showing how after the war, propoganda is still spreading about the NAZI's and how bad they were, even though Stalin was 20x more evil than Hitler, yet nobody acknowledges that?
Can someone PLEASE give me hints on what I could talk about.

For your speech on the topic of Conflict & Resolution, focusing on World War II and specifically the movie "Downfall," there are several aspects you can consider to make your presentation informative and interesting. Here is a step-by-step guide to help you approach your speech:

1. Choose a Focus Question:
To start, develop a focus question that will guide your research and analysis. A potential focus question could be:
- How does the movie "Downfall" depict interpersonal conflicts among Hitler and his inner circle during their last hours?

2. Research the Movie and Historical Context:
Begin by researching the movie "Downfall," directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel, to gain a deeper understanding of its portrayal of conflict and resolution. Consider watching the movie or reading its synopsis to identify the key characters and conflicts portrayed. Additionally, research the historical events surrounding Hitler's last hours, including the context of World War II.

3. Identify the Conflicts:
Analyze and identify the conflicts present in the movie. Since you mentioned various types of conflicts, consider focusing on specific ones such as:
- Interpersonal conflicts: Explore the tensions, power struggles, and dynamics among Hitler and his inner circle.
- Intergenerational conflicts: Examine conflicts between the older Nazi leaders and younger members who may question their ideologies or decisions.
- Intercultural conflicts: Investigate conflicts arising from interactions between Nazis and individuals from different cultures, such as prisoners or foreign diplomats.

4. Provide Evidence and Examples:
Support your analysis by presenting specific scenes, dialogues, or character interactions from the movie that showcase the conflicts identified. This will demonstrate your research and interpretation skills. You can also compare these conflicts with historical accounts or testimonies from that time to provide a broader perspective.

5. Explore Resolution or Lack Thereof:
Discuss how the conflicts are resolved or unresolved in the movie. Evaluate if resolutions were achieved through negotiation, power struggles, or other means. Consider the implications of these resolutions or lack thereof in the larger context of World War II.

6. Address Propaganda and Public Perception:
If you wish to address propaganda and public perception, you can briefly discuss how the portrayal of Hitler and the Nazis in movies and media has shaped public opinion about them. However, it is important to maintain focus on the conflicts within the movie "Downfall" while drawing connections to broader historical themes. Ensure your analysis remains balanced and supported by evidence.

7. Tie in Personal Interest:
Since you have a strong interest in World War II, incorporate personal insights and connections to share your enthusiasm with the audience. This will help make your presentation engaging and add a unique perspective to your speech.

Remember, to make your speech informative and interesting, use engaging visuals, provide clear explanations, and encourage audience interaction where appropriate. With these steps, you should have a solid foundation for your speech on conflict and resolution using the movie "Downfall" as your focus.
