(( distance between two points ))

show that A(4,2), B(-2,-2) and C(2,-8)are the vertices of an isoceles right triangle.

please in detales .. thank u

**drwls**, Saturday, November 10, 2007 at 7:49amThe lengths of the sides are

AB: sqrt(6^2 + 4^2) = sqrt 52 (side c)

BC: sqrt (4^2 + 6^2) = sqrt 52 (side a)

AC: sqrt (2^2 + 10^2) = sqrt 104 (side b)

This proves that two sides are equal and that it is a right triangle since

c^2 + a^2 = b^2.
