The common denmoninator is 24.

1/3 = 8/24.

5/6 = 20/24

3/8 = ?/24 (You do this one)

Add the terms at the right by adding the numerators and keeping 24 as the denominator. Then reduce the fraction you get to loweest terms, if possible. If it is greater than 1, write iut as a mixed numnber. (such as 1 ?/24 )
