Homework Help: World History / SS

I am having trouble finding the answer to the following homework question. Can someone please assist me so I can get on the right track?

Since world war ll, the European imperial countries have:

A. Tried to reestablish their former empires especially in Africa

B. Continued to dominate thier former colonies politically

C. Dominated global affairs

D. Conducted a retreat from world empire.

I am stuck between the possibility of either continuing to dominate their former colonies politically and conducting a retreat from worl empire. Please help me with the correct answer.

For the main, D is correct, however, there are specific countries where countries have maintained an interest. Economic ties are strong in come countries, and that translates to some political influence.
