my younger sister has a homework assignment to find out and draw the hazard symbols found on the following....

vinegar
milk of magnesia
toothpaste
pickled onions
orange juice
washing powder
soap
lemonade

.....we've looked around the house but nothing seems to have the symbols on.

Any ideas??

None of those are hazardous, however, some are acid, and some are alkaline.

washing powder, milk of magnesia, soap are all alkaline, the others acid.

I had exactly the same assignment i am so stuck they do have hazard symbols i think but i cant find out what they are either

To help your younger sister find out and draw the hazard symbols for the substances you listed, here's what you can do:

1. Start by explaining to her what hazard symbols are. These symbols are used to indicate the potential dangers or hazards associated with certain substances.

2. Inform her that hazard symbols are commonly found on the packaging of potentially hazardous substances, such as chemicals and cleaning products. However, they may not always be present on everyday household items like food and beverages.

3. Since you mentioned that you couldn't find any hazard symbols on the items in your home, it's likely because these items are not considered hazardous substances in the same way that chemicals and cleaning products are.

4. If your sister still needs to draw hazard symbols for her homework assignment, you can encourage her to search for these symbols online. She can use a search engine and enter the names of the substances along with "hazard symbol" to find images or information about the hazard symbols associated with each item. For example, she can search for "vinegar hazard symbol" or "washing powder hazard symbol."

5. Once she finds the hazard symbols, she can then draw them accurately on her assignment, making sure to include the specific symbol for each substance.

Remember, it's essential to educate your sister about the importance of accurately representing hazard symbols and understanding the potential hazards associated with different substances.
