Can you help me to choose the best answer to fill in the blank to this question?   Probably participation, since the teacher is reading. The children wouldn't be acting (on their own) but participating "while the teacher tells the story." =)

  I believe it's a participation story. Isn't an acting story one that children act out? Making animal sounds isn't really acting out a story.
