Homework Help: Psychology

I am doing a project where I have to illustrate the collective unconscious of my culture. The question is what symbols and archetypes are in your culture. I am using the archetypes the mother, and the hero. My problem is I don't know how this collective unconscious influences individual behavior. Could someone help me understand this? Thanks.
