im doing and english essay, and i have to answer this question.
How do the differences in the original 13 colonies lead to the development of "the north" and "the south"?
What do you think the differences were? Consider positions on states' rights and economies.
Please post your answer, and we'll be glad to critique it for you.
That's just what I can't find information about. I'm not sure what happened in the colonies that would have developed the other states.
was it the revolutionary war?
in the revolutionary war. was the south fighting with the british against the other colonies?
because i read that south kept the british religion
The question is asking about the division of the 13 colonies into two groups -- the northern colonies and the southern colonies. The northern colonies were more industrialized and business-oriented. They also favored a strong central U.S. government. The southern colonies were more agricultural and depended upon slaves to plant and harvest their corn and tobacco farms. They also wanted more control by states, rather than by the central U.S. government.
