how do you convert the fraction 2/3 to a decimal


Multiply numerator and denominator by 3:

2/3 = 6/9

1/9 = 1/(10-1) = 1/10 * 1/(1-1/10) =

1/10 [1 + 1/10 + 1/100 + 1/1000 + ...]=

0.1111111111111

Therefore 6/9 =

0.6666666666666666....

Another way to convert 2/3 to a decimal is to divide the numerator (top number) by the denominator (bottom number).

2/3 = 0.66666...
