Homework Help: books

Posted by astrid on Monday, August 6, 2007 at 8:32pm.

What is the author's tone of Maniac Magee? Is it light-hearted, humorous, serious, sarcastic, intense, or depressing?

What do you think?

I think it's serious but i can't explain why. Is it because even though people think Jeffrey is a crazy kid, the author wants everyone else to know that he has feelings and that he's an interesting person?

You've stated a good reason for believing the author's tone is serious. From the reviews I've read of this book, I agree that the author intended the book to be serious, while entertaining his audience.

Okay thanks!
