Homework Help: radicals

root 3 ^1/4 times root 3 ^ 1/5

the answer is root three ^9/20

i cant seem to figure out why i would have just tought that it would be root three ^ 1/9

when you are multiplying exponents add.

What is 1/4 + 1/5 ?
