In comparing prices of canned peaches, Darren finds that a 10-oz can costs 98 cents, a 16-oz can costs $1.49, and a 24-oz can costs $2.35. Which is the best buy?

My Guess:

10-oz*2.4=24-oz

2.4*$.98=$2.35

16-oz*1.5=24-oz

1.5*$1.49=$2.24

24-oz=$2.35

Divide each price by the ounces:

1) 2.35/24= 9.792 cents/oz

149/16 = 9.31 cents/oz

98/10 = 9.8 cents/oz

The cheapest? the one in the 16 oz can.
