I forgot how to add and subtract mixed # fractions. How do you do it?

ex) 3/7+5/6=1 11/42- How did they get this answer??

ex) 5 6/13-2 8/13=2 11/13- How did they get this answer??

ex) 3/7+5/6=1 11/42
You need to find a common denominator when adding or subtracting fractions.

3/7 = 18/42
5/6 = 35/42

18/42 + 35/42 = 53/42 = 1 11/42

ex) 5 6/13-2 8/13=2 11/13
5 6/13 = 4 19/13

4 19/13 - 2 8/13 = 2 11/13
