Ms. Sue was very helpful with this question,but now one of my friends disagrees. I am more confused than ever. Please help.
The use of a plant crop to harness the sun's energy for conversion to energy sources is termed _________.
Ms. Sue explained to me that it was photosynthesis. My friend tells me it is bioconversion. Please help me. Ms. Sue is always right.

I would say it's photosynthesis because the definitions is: the synthesis of complex organic materials, esp. carbohydrates, from carbon dioxide, water, and inorganic salts, using sunlight as the source of energy and with the aid of chlorophyll and associated pigments.

That is pretty close to your definition i guess.

It is bioconversion, however, one of the ways of bioconversion is photosynthesis. Ms Sue is always right.
