We will be happy to critique your thinking. Antarctica is a very delicate ecosystem: the removal of one item affects many, and you could cite examples of this.
Why do you think such a large percentage of the total skeleton is involved in the limbs?
You should post this as a new question using the link above. At any rate this is true of most if not all terrestrial mammals. How else could they run or move to catch food or avoid being eaten?
