How do you determine the correct verb in a compound subject sen.?
What is the best way to determine the correct verb? plez help!:/

Simple sentence with compound subject:

Jack and Jill ran up the hill.

Compound subject = Jack, Jill

Verb = ran

The verb is the verb, no matter if it's a single or a compound subject.

If the VERB is compound, the same rule applies.

The dog and the boy RAN and PLAYED.

DOG, BOY - compound subject
RAN, PLAYED - compound verb.
