The specific heat capacity of the lava is 1600 J kg -1 degrees Celsius -1 .
When all the erupted lava cools from the eruption temperature of 1050 degrees Celsius to 15 degrees Celsius, the heat released is 2 x 10 15 J.
Calculate a value for the total mass of lava that erupted. Give your answer in scientific notation.
The equation for this is q =cm deltaTem
q = heat transferred
c= specific heat
m = mass
delta temperature = change in temperature

2 x 1015 = 1600 x (1050-15) x m

M = 2x 1015 = 1207729469g
1600 x 1035

can sum1 help me is this correct??

the 2 x 10 is meant to be 2 x 10 ^ 15 likewise same for the rest of 2 x 1015
