Homework Help: Pre Algebra

Here is another one I need help with.

-5x+20=-60 ( remember it is a equation with variables and integers.)

Thank you once agian

add -20 to both sides
-5x=40
then multiply both sides by -1/5

x=-8

Lance,
Nice job, but you missed a negative sign.

-5x+20 = -60

Add -20 to both sides and you are left with

-5x = -80

So x = 16
