I'M IN 6 GRADE PLEASE EXPLAIN HOW TO RENAME FRACTIONS TO DECIMALS AS EASY AS YOU CAN

You divide the fraction by the the number at the top by the number at the bottom and get a decimal

For example

5
--- = 6 doesn't go into the 5 so we add a 0 and a point and then we add a zero beside the 5 to make ot 50 ,6 goes into the 50 8 times and what is left should be 2 which we then add a zero beside it to make 20. 6 goes into 30 3 times and your answer is

0.83

Try these and I'll check them for you

7
---
11

4
---
15

Remember you divide the top by the bottom
6

To rename fractions to decimals, you need to follow these steps:

1. Divide the numerator (the number at the top) by the denominator (the number at the bottom).
2. If the denominator does not divide evenly into the numerator, you will have a decimal fraction.
3. Place a decimal point after the whole number part (if any) of the division result. This is the digit(s) before the decimal point in the decimal form.
4. If the division result has a remainder, write it next to the decimal point as the first digit after the decimal.
5. To continue the division, add a zero after the remainder and divide again.
6. Keep dividing until you have the desired level of accuracy or until the division terminates (repeats a pattern).
7. Write down the digits after the decimal point until you have reached your desired level of accuracy.

Let's go through some examples:

Example 1:
Fraction: 7/11
Divide 7 by 11: 7 ÷ 11 = 0.63
So, 7/11 as a decimal is 0.63.

Example 2:
Fraction: 4/15
Divide 4 by 15: 4 ÷ 15 = 0.26
So, 4/15 as a decimal is 0.26.

Example 3:
Fraction: 6/?
Here, you haven't mentioned the denominator. Please provide the denominator so that we can complete the calculation for you.

Remember, dividing the numerator by the denominator is the key concept in converting fractions to decimals. Keep practicing, and you'll become more proficient at it!
