hi on my computer, i put a background on the desktop. i didn't like that one so i got another background but how do i get rid of the old one. because everytime i log on using my log in name, the picture of the old picture pops up and then my new background comes on.

Thank you for using the Jiskha Homework Help Forum. We would need to know what kind of computer you have (MAC or PC, for example) and what system you are running.

To change the background on your computer, the process may vary depending on the operating system you are using. Here are instructions for two common operating systems:

1. Windows:
- Right-click on the desktop and select "Personalize" from the dropdown menu.
- In the Personalization window, click on "Background" or "Desktop Background"
- A new window will open showing different background options.
- Browse through the available backgrounds and select the one you prefer.
- To remove the old background, simply select a different background and click "Apply" or "Save Changes."

2. macOS:
- Go to the Apple menu (Apple icon in the top-left corner) and select "System Preferences."
- In the System Preferences window, click on "Desktop & Screen Saver."
- You will see a list of preloaded wallpapers on the left side of the window. Choose the one you want.
- To remove the previous background, simply select a new wallpaper or click on the "-" button below the list of wallpapers.

If these instructions don't match your computer or operating system, please provide more details so that I can help you further.
