Write a balanced chemical equation for the reaction that occurs when sodium cyanide dissolves in water

You wrote no properties for the first part of your question. I shall be happy to critique your work.
For NaCN and H2O, the molecular equation is
NaCN + H2O ==> NaOH + HCN

The ionic equation is
CN^- + H2O ==> OH^- + HCN
