Posted by patti help on Friday, March 2, 2007 at 5:44pm.

1/3+5/12+4/5=
how do I break this down to add it?

1/3
5/12
4/5

find a common denominator, which for example, would be 60.

1/3= 20/60
5/12= 25/60
4/5= 48/60

then add the numerators.
20/60 + 25/60 + 48/60 = ?
