Homework Help: TLC

The following two solvents systems were found to separate compounds x and y by flash column chromatography:
X- hexanes/ethyl acetate 10:1
Y- hexanes/ethyl acetate 10:4
which is more polar X or Y?
Which solvent system must be used first?
