what is the equation of the line that passes through {negative 4, negative 1}and {0,7}?
A.Y=2X PLUS 9
B. Y=X/2 PLUS 7
C. 2X PLUS 7
D. Y= NEGATIVE 2X PLUS 7
Here's a way to approach your problem.
'm' represents slope.
'b' the yintercept.
m = (y2  y1)/(x2  x1)
m = [7  ( 1)]/[0  (4)]
m = 8/4 = 2
Now you can find 'b' using the first ordered pair (4, 1).
[y  (1)]/[x  (4)] = 2
(y + 1)/(x + 4) = 2
y + 1 = 2(x + 4)
Can you take it from here to finish?
I hope this will help.
