Homework Help: Pattern

Posted by Kim on Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at 2:12pm.

Can someone help me find the pattern and the next 3 numbers in the pattern?

10,1,6,6,11

I would think the next numbers would be 2, 7, 7, 12

But why?

The difference between 10 and 1 is 9.
The difference between 1 and 6 is 5.
So , if you restart the pattern with 11, subtract 9, you get 2. Then add 5, which is 7. Repeat the 7 and then add the difference between 6 and 11 ( 5) which would give you 12.

The pattern thin is subtract 9, add 5, repeat that number and then add 5.

OKay, thak you so much!!!
